My family and I had the most fantastic restorative weekend break at The Grain Store. I hadn’t appreciated the ease and joy that holidaying in your home area would bring. Our family group ranged from ages 14 to 83 and I can safely say everyone was wowed by the weekend.
As a family we are keen walkers on the Downs and regularly walk around the areas that The Grain Store looks out on. However we hadn’t really walked that much from the immediate area from the Grain Store. Seeing our cherished views from a slightly different perspective was illuminating. We felt we discovered new places, paths and views which we had no idea existed right on our door step without having to get in the car which is always a winner in my book.
As The Grain Store was just a 5 minute drive from our home we were able to arrive with minimal loss of time and able to jump into the weekend straight after work without any extra travel time. The children were also able to keep up with their regular weekend activities too.
For my parents this was the key to relaxation. The proximity to their home enabled them to jump in the car worry free knowing that if they needed anything essential or had forgotten anything there was no stress or anxiety to pop back home. I can’t tell you how comforting that was for my increasingly anxious mother. As it happens they didn’t need to pop back for anything other than their camera ! As The Grain Store catered for all their needs. As an interior designer I thoroughly enjoyed all that the interiors had to offer. The attention to detail was quite spectacular! There was even a light switch connected to the main open plan area just for night time lighting. So so thoughtful.
The most marked point for me was that I noticed that by early Sunday afternoon my pacing heart rate had calmed. I have never noticed such a change in myself and I’m sure its due to the proximity to the most fantastic countryside.
